Developing a Successful Marketing Strategy

Pieces of a Marketing StrategyA marketing strategy describes how an organization successfully engages its customers, faces competitors without any disputes, and achieves its goal. A key component of the marketing strategy is to keep marketing in line with the company’s underlying mission statement.

To maintain this strategy, a company should focus on three main points of view.

  1. The first point is target market. Unless a company has a quality target market, it cannot reach its goal. An ideal demographic must be determined to proceed with a marketing strategy.
  2. The second point is the key elements of the proposition. Once a target marketing is established, the marketing strategy must focus on the sales proposition, thereby creating an image for consumers. This product image is highly responsible for driving sales and encouraging repeat sales.
  3. The third main point is to put the strategy into practice. In other words, it is not sufficient for a company to have many ideas to increase sales or to improve the quality of the goods. The over-all strategy should be implemented in a timely manner to reach the target market with an optimized proposition. Timing might be scheduled around competition, the current or upcoming season, holidays, industry trends, etc…

Employees and Incentives

But one thing that is true, is that it is not an easy task to maintain a marketing strategy. Of course, a business can develop a marketing strategy but in reality, the success of that strategy depends on the company as a whole. Responsibilities lie with corporate decision makers, supervisors, managing directors, and employees. At times, it is the responsibility of the company to offer promotions and incentive to its employees in order to keep them motivated to put maximum effort into a marketing strategy at an opportune time.

A Unified Business Model

Remember that a company’s marketing strategy depends on the infrastructure of the company, formal and informal descriptions that are used by enterprise to represent various aspects of the strategy. This includes that strategy itself, organizational structure, trading practices, and operational practices and policies. Only a company that can bring together it’s business model under one unified effort, can build a successful long-term marketing strategy.
